My Thanks to Capn’ Bill for sharing this photo with us. You can see how much paint he had to remove in order to actually read the number. One good way to get the number correct is to make a very simple lead pencil and paper tracing. This will quite often permit you to tell the difference between different characters like “3’s or 8’s” and letters that might look like an “I” when it’s a “1” - and it’s also a good document record to file away once you’ve done it. |
